I am having some fun with this now. Here are some things from Kitten's room and a couple of my diaper bags. My mom just got me the grey leather one, it's pretty big, but I know it will get a lot of use. The pink one will be for my everyday use.

The orange cat is a chair, I found at Target and love it.
Holy cow I finally did it..... I can't believe it. I got out of the house today and the husband took me to Best Buy so I could get a new photo program and here you go...

The picture is of G- whom I baby sit for a friend. She is now 9 months old and very active..... She was crawling all over my husband, so I just had to get a picture.

I am so excited I finally figured out how to add photos....

Now that I have 5 more weeks off work I will start bombarding everyone of all my cute stuff for Kitten... You have been warned!!!

Here is my first attempt at posting a picture.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Next Christmas should be different for everyone (in a really good way)!!

The husband and I were talking and we made a list of what we are looking forward to for next Christmas..

Baking cookies for Santa
Picking out cute Christmas outfits for Kitten
Taking Kitten to the children's Mass at church
Getting cute pictures of Kitten in all her holiday wear
Sending out Christmas cards with Kittens picture in them
Having 3 stockings to hang
And of coarse showing off our wonderful little girl to EVERYONE!!!!!

Well I think I am going to go with a pouch baby carrier, not to just decide on a pattern that I want. I think I will get a Mei Tai also when she gets a bit older. What the heck, I will probably have a million baby carriers (like I do diaper bags)!!!! Oh well, I will want to carry my best girl all the time..

Christmas was some what interesting for me, granted I am all hopped up on narcotics!!!! First we went to the MIL's...... I will say, she did get me some nice things for Christmas. However, I find it strange that she bought my BIL's girlfriend a $400.00 leather Harley Davidson jacket.... I about fell over because they are not even engaged..... I told my husband she is probably just so thankful he has a girlfriend that's why she bought it. She told me the he was supposed to split the cost of the jacket with her, but he never gave her the money..... Shocker, since he has no job and she(MIL) pays all his bills!!!!!! That subject is a whole nother post......

Anyways, things were going fine until she (once again) reminded me that my other BIL (moved to get away from her and is getting married in March) and is soon to be wife are going to start trying to have a baby after their wedding (they are in their 30's) she said, wouldn't that be funny if they had a baby before you got yours home!!! Some how she finds humor in how long we have been at this. Well I some what snapped.. I said: I know that since you had 3 babies in the time we have wanted 1 you would have absolutely no idea what we are going threw, but I thought you being a good Catholic who goes to church every week would be a bit kinder to us!!!! And then I also said: I will be sure to remember all your non sense when it comes time to pick a nursing home for you... Her jaw dropped on that one.... It felt good... She knows that any decisions for her long term care will be left up to Rich and I. The son that moved wants nothing to do with her, the other son who she pays his bills can't wipe his own butt little own make long term decisions, so that leaves my husband all of us ladies know that it is really our decision!!!!

Enough of my evil ways on Christmas!!!!!!

We also visited my FIL's family in the evening (my FIL passed away 7 years ago) his family is very good to rich and I and they are sooooo excited about Kitten. We always have fun with them.

We have come up with a slogan for us in 2007, it goes"

2007- The year of the baby-

Feel free to use it, since it applies to lots of us this next year!!!!!

Merry Christmas Eve. I am at home instead of Mass, I would not be able to sit for the service and plus it is the children's Mass and I am not up for that this year.

I have been searching the internet in between naps since I can't do much more!!!

Anyways, I have been looking at baby carriers. Here is my dilemma, I have a Snuggli carrier that I have used on G- (I baby sit her for a friend) It has worked out good for me, but now G- is almost 17lbs it is getting harder to carry her for longer periods of time. I plan on taking this carrier to Vietnam, but I am also looking at some other carriers and I wonder what other have used...

We had anticipated Kitten to be over the age of 1, but our agency said to expect her to be very young (I am now taking this with a grain of salt, as other things we have been told have not been accurate). I had a great hip carrier all picked out, but now I am afraid she will be to little for that for a while (I am not going to order a carrier until we get our referral).

I am torn between a ring sling and a pouch. I have been looking at a very nice site called www.alongfortheride.biz seems to have lots of information, but I still can not decide. I have seen these is all sorts of beautiful fabrics so that makes the decision even harder...

So any advice from people with experience would be appreciated.. I might end up buying both because they both look good!!!!! To many decisions...

We plan on carrying Kitten around as much as possible to help with bonding, but I am also afraid there will be some boundary issues with my MIL. I have been telling people for a very long time that we are not going to want others to hold her and to help with her care until we feel that she understands who we are to her. We want to do what is best for her attachment.

I feel that if one of us has her in a carrier that the MIL will be less likely to try and hold her.... Maybe not though... I will not hesitate to put my foot down, but I don't want a confrontation with her because she will make herself out to be a victim and I will be the baby hog!!!

I have had some issues with her just from having G- around. She has actually yanked G- out of my arms because she wants to hold her after I told her no, now G- is older she takes one look at my MIL (if she is holding her)and screams and reaches out for me.

So I know that if I am having issues now with G- and she is not even my baby I know that it will get worse when Kitten gets home!!!!

My MIL is a real piece of work... She invited herself to Vietnam and then proceeded to tell us what time of year would work best for her to travel (like we get a choice). So Rich told her she was not going with us..... We had talked about it and said if my parents wanted to go that would be fine, because they would do what they where told and stay in the back ground and just take pictures and run the video camera. But, she would turn everything into being about her..

Sorry I am b*tching about her, but she just drives me nuts most of the time. We are really thinking about moving to get away from her. One of my husbands brothers moved to get away.

A prime example of her nuttiness was with my last surgery in October, I found out she was telling people that she had to take me to the surgery and them get me home and take care of me for 3 days!!!!! Now keep in mind my husband took off of work to take care of me and my mom also flew up for it. I only saw her for about 10 minutes before my surgery and then did not see her again for a week or two!!!! So now with this latest surgery I wonder what she is telling people, I am sure it is that she had to give me a kidney or a lung.....

Well enough of the MIL complaining time for Rich to come home from Mass and we can watch a movie.

I am home safe and sound from my surgery. I got to came home a day earlier than expected because my Doctor was very happy with my progress and he also thought I would rest better at home.

He said my surgery went great and that I should recover nicely!!! I am very sore, but doing okay. My incision is about 6 inches long, so hopefully it will not interfere with my swim suit modeling!!!!!!

My husband is so sweet trying to help me with everything. My mom has been here also, but she is going home tomorrow.

My mom got me a great diaper bag, well it's actually a carry on bag from Hartmann Luggage, but I will use it as one of my many diaper bags!!! It is a beautiful grey leather, very soft and yummy..

If I am rambling or jumping from subject to subject it's because I am on all sorts of great pain meds!!!! The nurse had to fight me to get back the morphine pump I had (just kidding)!!!

Rich took off work until January 2nd so he can take care of me...

And last I want to wish a few of the ladies from these blogs a safe trip as they travel to Vietnam to meet their girls for the first time. I can not wait to see pictures of these happy families together at last..

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and Happy Holidays to those who celebrate other things.

Nothing new for me to post about so that's why I have been missing. My surgery is Thursday, hopefully I will be home on Friday. My momma is coming up for it, and my husband is off work with me until January 2nd. I am off work until February 5th. I will be glad to get this done with, and much rather do it now than when Kitten is home, because I would not be able to pick her up, and that would totally stink!!!!

All done with the Christmas shopping and everything is wrapped.... I wish my wrapping looked great, but it doesn't.. I have a friend who's presents always look great, beautiful paper and nice hand made bows. I think she would give Martha Stewart a run for her money on craftiness..

Since I have nothing exciting to blog about, I thought I would answer some of the questions from another blog.

What is the one holiday ritual you would absolutely never give up? I would have to say Christmas morning, my husband I get up early and sit in front of the Christmas tree (still in our p.j.'s) and open our presents to each other and then we make breakfast. I love it because it is just us and there is no rushing, we just enjoy ourselves.

What is the part of the holidays you find the most tedious and exhausting? That would have to be dealing with my MIL... I'll leave it at that!!!!

What is the worst or weirdest gift you have ever received? One of my BIL's got me a gift card to a hunting/fishing store.... The only hunting I do is for Coach purses. I don't think I could hunt or fish in my pointy toes heels!!!!!

What is the most memorable gift you have ever received? I got a pony when I was 3 for my birthday/Christmas.

What is the one thing you do to make organizing your holiday a little bit easier?
I am a planner, so if I was not organized I would keel over....

If you could make one holiday wish, this year, what would it be? Thanks easy, have my Kitten cakes home and decked out in the cutest Christmas dress ever!!!!

I am a bit grinchy this year. I did not do Christmas cards this year... I did not feel like it. I had planned last year, that this year I would do really cute pictures of Kitten for our Christmas cards(lets face it when you have kids, people only want to see them!!!) Well, that did not work out for us, so I am crabby and decided to not do any Christmas cards!!!!!

My husband and I were talking and said "well this should be our last Christmas with just the 2 of us". This is the running joke between the 2 of us, we have been saying that since we were married in 2004. We dated for 4 years before we got married and wanted to get started on a family right after our wedding.... Well, 2.5 years later we are still trying to start a family.....

Since my last post something have changed for us... Apparently there was a "misunderstanding" in what we were told about what number we are in line for a little girl. I say "misunderstanding" in the fact that "apparently" what my husband and I heard while on the phone with our agency was not correct. Some how with the conversation being on speaker phone and both of us taking notes we "misunderstood" what was told to us. (Even though I repeated what I had written down???)

I will not go into much detail, because I have had a week to calm down and put my angry eyes away.. Anyways we are NOT 4th and I have no idea when we will ever get a referral. We are very disappointed on how things were handled. I am not to happy to be made to feel like a moron... I just want my baby and to move on with my life!!!

Tomorrow is my 28th birthday and our paperwork will have left for Vietnam 166 days before.

My husband who is wonderful, got me a great sweat suit from Lands End for my birthday. My mother-in-law also got me a nice one from Macy's.. This birthday is the sweat suit birthday because my next surgery is next week and I will not be able to wear jeans for a while, so I wanted some nice sweat suits to wear.. Plus, what is better than cozy clothes in cold weather????

Greetings from the lovely state of Tennessee! Actually, we are heading home tomorrow, but we just got internet service going here the other day... Things work a little different here than what I am use to, there is a waiting list for DSL service so my mom had to get dial up... I have become an internet service snob since we got wireless service and dial up is killing me...

Anyways, we have had a great time, love the area that my parents now live in and their new house is fabulous.... I have been giving them a hard time because our house that I grew up in was not nearly this big or nice!!!!

We are actually thinking of moving here after we get Kitten home and settled, but we have some time before those kind of decisions need to be made.. However, if we moved here I would be a full time stay at home mom instead of a part time stay at home mom!!!!! A girl can dream right..

I am thinking about sending out a picture announcement of Kitten (when we get our referral) with some info on her (date of birth, location, simple stuff like that) to close friends and family so they can see how cute she is.. (most family lives out of state so they would not normally see her picture). Any thoughts on that?? When we get her home I will do actual adoption announcements.

Well better finish packing for the trip home tomorrow..
