The Road Less Traveled

I took the road less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost

Cami is getting Baptized on October 7th, we are then having her first birthday party after that.

She is getting Baptized in the same church we got married in and by the same Priest that married us. I am glad it is the same Priest that married us, extra special that way.

I had an outfit made for her in Vietnam but, it is WAY to big, so I think it will fit for her second birthday....

This is her Baptism gown, I call it the Princess Diana version. It's wonderful and over the top and I love it. Maybe if she has a daughter one day, she too can wear it.

I knew I had to share this super sweet photo.

So, I have had some interesting conversations with some Vietnamese friends of ours and the conversation is of coarse about Cami. They think that Cami has some Caucasian in her, I think so too. Cami's hair is brown with red tones in it, actually we have the exact same hair color (minus my gray hairs I am thinking of making disappear....) My mom and mil both agree too.

I find it interesting, we of coarse will never know for sure. Whatever her background is we are crazy about her!!!!!

As Cami's first birthday approaches I am thinking more and more about her birth mother. I am so grateful for the decisions she made. We love this little girl to the moon and back, we give her the life and the love that I hope would make her birth mother feel more at peace.

We feel so privileged and blessed to be raising this little girl.

In some exciting news, my parents are moving here to be closer to us (okay they just want to see Cami all the time). We had talked about moving to Nashville but, hubby decided he did not want to leave his job. They just bought a 2 acre lot on the river here with a small house they are going to tear down and build a new one. I am working on them to let us have half of their lot so we can build a new house on the water too. Their property is in a really good school system here. My parents do like the idea of us living next to them because then Jon can help them with the yard and up keep.

It works out good to be an only child!!!!

We are the proud owners of a king size bed now!!!!! YEAH

As you can see, it makes Cami look even smaller :)

I will share some of the latest things our little one is up to....

She stands herself up in her crib and yells "hey mama" until I go get her....

She has turned into Spider Girl and is climing everything.

When I am talking to Jon on the phone she will say "hi dada" to him and she will do the same thing to me if I am on the other end.

We are truly amazed at how fast she picks up words.... Yikes, I really have been watching what I say.

Cami is now a whopping 14 lbs and I have moved her up to 6 month size clothing (still a bit big). She wears 9 month size pj's because she is getting long.

Still waiting on teeth, I think they are coming soon (I hope, she turns 1 soon).

Today my Cami cakes is 10 months old!!!!! She is getting so big and is now 14 lbs. I had to get her 9 month size pj's because 6 month were getting short, so she is getting long.

In the picture with the other baby, that is my cousins daughter who is 3 weeks younger than Cami you can tell the size difference. They had so much fun playing, there was a lot of squealing and arm flapping. This all took place at my Grandmas little apartment and she loved every minute of watching her great grand babies playing.

I was once again reminded how small the world really is, we got to talking to a Vietnamese family in our neighborhood and the dad was originally from Nam Dinh (same place Cami is from) how crazy is that...... Here we are in a neighborhood in Indiana and we both have Nam Dinh ties. They are a very nice family with 2 super cute kiddos.

So I am hoping to join the dark side one of these days..... The dark side you ask, is being a mini van mom!!!!! :) I drove my best friends moms' new Honda Odessy and LOVED it!!!!! The 3 of us took it with Cami to a craft show and I loved all the room and how easy it was to get Cami out of her car seat. So now I eye all the Odessy vans and think sweet ride! Since my car is payed off it will be a few years until I feel the need for a new car payment but, a girl can dream right!!!!
