The Road Less Traveled

I took the road less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost

After reading the idea of what we are thankful, I thought I would post it too.

I am so thankful for my husband who loves me no matter what, he puts up with my craziness (especially induced by this adoption). He is such an incredible man with a great heart. I know he will make a wonderful daddy to our little girl. I look forward to seeing their relationship blossom.

I am thankful for our families who are so supportive of this journey we are taking.

I am thankful for this little girl that we will one day meet. Even though we do not know when or where that will be or even who she is yet, I am still thankful.

I am and will always be thankful to a woman I will most likely never meet for the sacrifice that she will or may have already made. I am thankful that she found a safe place to take her little girl and trust that they would find a family to love and take care of her daughter.

And once again I am thankful for my wonderful husband....

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow is the 5 month mark for our paperwork going to Vietnam...

Today I saw a good friend, she has 2 of the cutest girls (who happen to be adopted from China). H- is 5 and in kindergarten and D- is 3, both girls are so smart. J- was warning me that we will have our hands full and to start a college fund NOW!!!!!

I was asking D- what she was for Halloween and she said "I was Mulan". I said, "I bet you where a good Mulan". Her response was "well of coarse I was, I'm Chinese"!!!!
I almost died from laughter, this was coming from a 3 year old....

I want to send CONGRATS out to 2 fellow bloggers that will be spending Christmas in Vietnam with their sweet little girls, what an awesome Christmas present.

We received some information from a friend about a 18 month old girl from Vietnam that is on a SN list. This little pumpkin is so sweet, but after much thought, research and prayer we decided not to pursue her. I am praying that she finds her forever very soon. I would like to ask everyone to keep this little girl in their thoughts and prayers.

We ended up buying a fake Christmas tree today... AND it is decorated and all lit up in the window!! I really like it, it is my favorite fake tree I have found. It is tall and skinny, so it does not take up a bunch of room!! We went with red and white lights this year.

Well, its official Rich and I have out lasted Britnay Spears and K-Fed (not that it surprised anyone)!!! They were married the same day as us.

Rich leaves for Florida Saturday to help my parents move to Tennessee. I then leave for Tennessee on Thanksgiving morning. I am looking forward to not doing anything for about 2 weeks, but enjoy my husband and my parents... Okay I am lying about not doing anything because I plan on painting some rooms for my mom and doing lots of unpacking and even more shopping...

I have decided to get my parents a lot of new stuff for their new house for Christmas. She said they wanted a new toaster either red or stainless steel, so I found one I think I am going to get them that is both red and stainless steel. Its made by Kitchen Aid (I love anything Kitchen Aid). My mom loves red and is doing lots of fun red stuff in this house. I love red too and have lots of red stuff in my house that my mom has been eyeing for a few years... I always have to check her suitcase before she leaves to make sure it did not "fall" in there.

I still have not decided what to get Rich for Christmas....

I have my next surgery scheduled, it is December 21st... Merry Christmas to me!! I will spend 1 to 2 days in the hospital. The sad part is that I will not be able to push a vacuum, clean or lift anything over 5 lbs. So I am very sad about the not cleaning (as you all can guess)!! Maybe now my husband will let me get a cleaning lady....

I have decided to give my fybroid a name since it is so large (I asked my Doctor if it could be my twin, something I saw on Discovery Channel) I have chosen the name Tito. And I will not miss Tito when he is gone!!

Once Tito gets evicted I will be off work for 6 weeks, I hope I will not get cabin fever from being house bound!!! I don't want to turn into something from "The Shining"!!

Clark Griswold has struck again, this time with Christmas decorations, however, we will wait to get a Christmas tree until we return from Tennessee. We get a Fraser Fur for the living room and then we put our fake one in the family room. Every year we talk about getting a nice fake one for the living room too, but we have yet to do it.

Every year we do a picture for a Christmas card, I had all these plans for a great Christmas card this year. I was going to go to Kinkos and have a page made up with a bunch of picture of Kitten and just tell everyone about or exciting year, but that did not work out, so I will save that grand plan for next year!! So once again everyone will get a picture of us.... Boring...

My mom just called to tell me they bought a new living room set for the new house at the Relax The Back store. They got the couch and chairs in a red micro suede. Very sassy.. They also bought themselves a new bed there, so now our guest room will have a king size bed... I am planning on inheriting this furniture, especially since I think they spend a chunk of my inheritance on it... She and I also saw an awesome metallic cherry red front loading washer and dryer that she wants too.. New house, all new stuff!!!

I am sorry I have been a bit of a wet blanket lately. As we all know, this wait really takes its tolls on you.

I am normally not a downer of a person. I have always been known to be fun to be around. Heck, I could have fun in a brown paper bag..

I will say that I did get cheered up tonight, thanks to VH1. That's right ladies, it was the "100 Greatest 80's Hits". Don't tell me I am the only one who had the red Michael Jackson jacket with all the zippers!!

After tonight I can hopefully remember that "the other guy from Wham" is named Andrew.. It has only taken me 20 years!!

I find it so funny that I have trouble remembering what I had for lunch, but I can remember that Tawny Catan danced on the hood of a Jaguar in Whitesnake videos... Maybe I can remember it so well because I loved David Coverdales big hair and secretly wished it was me dancing on that Jag...

Okay, and how many of you can say you danced with your mom at your wedding to Run DMC/Aerosmith "Walk This Way". (One of my favorite songs).

So now that I have given up some of my 80's secrets how about anyone else???

I feel such relief, I have been hiding these secrets for so long! I have more 80's secrets I will share another time, because I am afraid that they would be to much for you to handle...

First let me start out by saying that I appreciate everyone's kind words and support for everything that my family and I have been through in the last week. I means a lot to me.

Next week will be the 5 month mark for our Dossier being in Vietnam. Unfortunately, I have no idea if we are getting any closer to a referral. I am trying to stay positive, but as we all know some days are harder than others.

I will enjoy watching all the hotties on the CMA awards tonight....

I have never been so happy to return to the cold weather in my entire life! I got home from Florida today.

My uncle B- passed away Tuesday night on his own. I was thankful that decisions did not have to be made regarding unplugging any machines.

Unfortunately things will my crazy uncle W- went way worse than anyone could of expected. But, he will have to live with the extremely poor decisions he choose to make. To make matters worse his wife and daughter also participated in this behavior.

Because of their actions they could all face criminal theft charges for stealing money and other items from my uncles house before he had even passed away. They also would not give important keys and documents to my cousins so they could be passed onto the lawyer that is now working on settling the estate. They said that my cousins will need a court order to get these items, so the lawyer said "if that's what they want then that's what they will get".

My grandmother called me because she wanted to know what exactly is going on. I had been very worried about her, but she has once again proven herself as a pillar of strength. My little grammy is 83, but she is as sharp as a tack. So I was honest with her about W-'s behavior. She was beyond the point of pissed, she has been getting more and more upset with W-'s actions over the years and his treatment of her other 3 children. So needless to say, my sweet little grammy has made lots of changes in the last few days that will really shock some people when they surface.
