The Road Less Traveled

I took the road less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost

I have been a bad blogger but, honestly I have been to tired to blog..... Cami is teething and has been getting up a lot at night so all of us have been going to bed about 7:30.

Last Monday was Cami's 1st birthday, we spent the day together. We went shopping, I tried to get her some shoes at Stride Rite, after the lady measrued her feet she said come back when her feet get bigger because they are to small for the walking shoes. We then had lunch with some friends. All in all it was a good day.

We got her a American Girl doll Bitty Baby, she is very interested in that the eyes open and close.

My Cami cakes is getting so big, I am truly amazed at how fast she grows. 4.5 months ago she could hardly sit by herself, now she is on the go soon to be walking. She is getting tall too, soon her 9 month jammies will be to short. Tall and skinny, that's my girl.

We have her 1 year check up Friday and I am hoping she has hit the 15lb mark. With her being thin and tall, I had to make her a belt to keep her pants up.....

So far we have had our pumpkins for 2 weeks and the crazy lady down the street has not stollen them. I marked them this year and have a good friend who is a cop in our area and she said if the crazy lady steals them this year she is going to go down there and have a chat with her..... Basically, she thinks it's funny and would give her a break from dealing with some of the other crazies!!

And please send good thoughts that Cami's first 2 teeth FINALLY come in..... She has the tooth lumps and I can see them but, they just have not boken threw yet.

What a busy day we had yesterday! First Cami was baptized and then we celebrated her 1st birthday!!! She had a great time yesterday, except when she saw me holding another little girl.... She crawled over to me as fast as she could and crawled up in my lap and tried to push the other little girl out. And then they proceeded to give each other nasty looks......

Besides that we had a great time, around 20 people came. I wanted to keep it small but, everyone wanted to come help Cami celebrate her birthday.

I was thinking yesterday exactly 4 months earlier I was stepping off a plane in Hanoi and being handed a tiny little baby, now my tiny little baby is growing fast. 4 months has flown past and she has changed so so much.

As Cami's birthday and finding date draw closer I find myself thinking more and more about her birthmother. I wish there was a way to tell her what an amazing little girl we have and how so many people love her. I think I will always have a bit of a pit in my stomach because I will never be able to answer some of the most important questions in my daughter's life. It makes me sad that I do not know her exact date of birth but, I do know the day she was found and that her birthmother placed her in a very safe place to be found. I will also be able to tell her how her given name came about, Ha Kieu Anh, they thought she was a very beautiful baby so they named her after a Miss Vietnam who is now a big movie star over there.

Actually I find it funny that she was named after a Miss Vietnam, because when Cami waves it's not like how regular kids waves, she does a pageant wave (I kid you not)!!!
