The Road Less Traveled

I took the road less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost

I am sad to say that the little girl I mentioned in an earlier post is no longer available for us to adopt. Her referral was given to another agency.

We knew this was a possibility but, it does not really help our disappointment. We just hope that she finds her family soon.

We have had her picture for a couple weeks and as hard as we tried to be distant from it and about her, there really is no way you can be. All that we saw was a beautiful little girl who needed a family to love her and spoil her and frankly we wanted to be that family. So we will pull ourselves together and move on with this journey.

We have been DTV going on 9 months, so I am sooooo tired of waiting. Soon we will have to get a new homestudy so we can get a new I-171H.

Some days I wish I could just crawl into a hole until we get a referral.

So sorry to hear but like you hope she finds her family soon. It is so hard for those outside this process to understand how you can totally fall in love with a photo. I hope you get news soon.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I can imagine what you are feeling, this happened with us almost 2 years ago with a referral from Guatemala.

You just have to think that everything happens for a reason-although we don't know the reason right now you have to keep the faith that someday you'll be matched with the absolute most beautiful most perfect little girl in the whole world!

I'm so sorry! In this process it is nearly impossible to not get your hopes up. I hope you hear soon about a little girl that is waiting for your family!

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry to hear this. I can only begin to imagine how hard this news must have been for you. This whole adoption "racket" can really drive the best of us insane. No rhyme or reason, huh? why some get their referrals in months and travel even sooner. While the rest wait and wait and wait. Ugh! if only we could see into the future (and maybe teleport too there while we're at it!) hang in there. your time and my time will eventually come. I keep telling myself there is a reason for all this. I just too close to the situation to see the truth. hugs!

    Hi Jo
I literally had the same thought about crwaling into a hole today waiting not coming out without a babe. The waiting is so hard. Your little one is coming!

My heart truly goes out to you. I understand first-hand how easy it is to fall in love with a photo, but I can only imagine what you must be feeling right now.

I'll continue to pray for you and this sweet little girl.

We had that happen during the beginning of our adoption. There was a 4 year old boy that our agency had in mind for us, they went to pick up his paperwork and he had already been given to a Swiss agency. However, just a couple weeks later we saw our little girl. It'll pay off! I promise!!

I too lost a referral while waiting. It was hard because we had his picture up and our kids knew about him. We soon got another referral and our new guy, Ty,he is perfect for our family. It still hurts and the wait is horrible, but you will get the perfect little one for your family. Hang in there, it does happen. Terra and Ty(Faith Internationl).
